  • My Childhood

Min-Min is a pianist, performer and full-time piano teacher. Her love for music started when she was all but 2 years old. She was surrounded by the sounds of music from her mum’s piano studio. She used to climb up on the piano bench the moment her mum’s students leave as she couldn’t wait to tinkle on the keys.

This love for music has taken her very far. She started her music education with her mum who gave her a very strong foundation in finger technic and musicality. At the age of 13, she continued her music education with Mr. Ong Lip Tat for the next 5 years. It was under Mr. Ong’s encouragement that she decided to further her studies in the US. It has taken her to Ohio and Seattle where she completed her Bachelor of Music as well as her Master of Music Degree in Piano Performance.

During her stay in the US, she was given many opportunities to perform. She has been teaching now for 20 years and is still as passionate about music. She now teaches piano and music theory in Singapore from her music studio.

Her other interests include traveling, reading, attending concerts to unwind and rejuvenate herself. She also enjoys an occasional day out in the sun, enjoying a good cuppa coffee.

    My Passion for Music

Min-Min had many wonderful professors in the US, who are dedicated and passionate about teaching and imparting their knowledge. They have inspired and taught her that one has to fully understand the music and the life of the composer in order to play and give the music justice.

Remember that a true musician is one who is able to touch the hearts of the audience and bring the written music to life, to tell the story as what the composer had intended.

Min-Min continues to instill this in her students as one can only appreciate music if one fully understands and appreciates it.

  • My Best Year Ever in United States was when I Studied in University of Washington.
